Logistics Specialist France

• The Logistics Specialist is responsible for the planning and execution of all import / export activities for our Client. Ensuring that all imports / export activities are completed in accordance with BHI internal procedures, in compliance with all relevant legislation, at a cost effective rate, and in a timely manner. The principal accountabilities, duties and responsebilities are:
• Responsible for the planning and execution of imports and exports for all product lines within the Geomarket;
• Responsible for the creation and accuracy of all systems of record including SAP, hard copy import / export documents and files, internal shipping logs and quality management systems;
• Responsible for ensuring all international trade activities are executed with full compliance to internal BHI procedures and any relevant external legislation.
• Responsibility for the selection and management of approved freight agents to work on behalf of our Client. This will include, but is not limited to: validating quotations, reviewing service options, recording shipment milestones and identifying non conformances;
• Take an active role in internal quality management activities including freight agent service review and KPI analysis meetings;
• Participate in country level freight sourcing activities as directed by Supply Chain management team;
• Seek opportunities to minimize freight spend through activities such as cross product line consolidation or mode shift principal
• Adhere to current Health, Safety and Environmental procedures, and have a proactive mentality to continuous improvement in such matters;
• Any other duties as required;.

• The qualifications and experience we look for in a Logistics Specialist:
• Good time management & organisational skills;
• High level computer skills – Microsoft packages, internet, email etc;
• Strong Interpersonal, communication and interpretation skills;
• Ability to work well as part of a team and independently;
• Well developed sense for assessment, problem solving and logistical decision making;
• Flexible and adaptable to changing demands in a fast paced environment;
• Results driven with the ability to be proactive as well as reactive to handling unexpected setbacks, obstacles and time constraints;
• Principal Accountabilities / Duties / Responsibilities;
• Good organisational and logistical skills;
• Solid experience with computers and related applications, MS Word, Excel;
• Must be able to speak and write French and English fluently;
• SAP Experience would be beneficial:
• Degree, Diploma or equivalent relating to business, Logistics, transportation, or Supply Chain Management would be beneficial;
• Previous operations experience in a logistics or freight forwarding environment would be ideal;
• nowledge of International Logistics, Trade & Regulatory Compliance;
• Awareness of Local Customs Regulations & Requirements.
